Competition Law
Competition Law is geared to provide equal opportunity to participate fairly in the national economy and compete in international markets. Credible competition law and structures to administer the Competition Act No. 89 of 1998 (as amended) are paramount for an efficient and functioning economy on which all sectors of the economy rely and benefit. Uncompetitive trade practices are discouraged, hence for the establishment of a Competition Commission responsible for the investigation, control and evaluation of restrictive practices, abuse of dominant position and the establishment of a competition tribunal to adjudicate alleged abuses and related concerns.
